My favorite moment(s) is where they all drop to the ground around one member (it happens twice) and seeing how all of the other six members do it. The explosive chorus in particular is amazing to watch, but there’s so many other moments that make it great. I LOVE the choreography for Blood Sweat and Tears. There isn’t really another BTS music video that is like Blood Sweat and Tears, and I’m happy about it, because even though that’s what drew me in, it means that BTS is so varied that their music videos cover a wide range of possibilities. There’s such a strong aesthetic running through it, and it wasn’t a type of music video that I’d ever seen before, so it made me want to see more of BTS in general. The Japanese version feels like the harsh reality of the original, which can be considered more like a dream-feeling of the same thing.īack to the original music video - I think what drew me in most about it (aside from Jimin and the song itself) was the overall visual aesthetics.
Both videos are very good independent of each other, but the tie-ins are great. But in a good way! Even if you don’t know much about the storyline it’s just an intriguing video that is a lot to take in, and some of the ways they incorporate the original video are cool. I can’t talk about this song without talking about the Japanese music video, which is very much rooted in the Bangtan Universe storyline and is just…very trippy and bizarre and has kind of the opposite aesthetic of the original. So even though I didn’t catch everything right away, I did get that much. I know this music video means a lot of things both in general and with regards to the Bangtan Universe storyline, but to simplify it, I think the visuals and the lyrics and the dance all work together really well to show how it is a song about losing innocence at its core. The way the tension builds when Jin is walking up to the angel…it’s so good.
All of the rooms they’re in, their dancing, the changes in color (I don’t know what it’s called, but hopefully you know what parts I mean), what everyone is doing…and then the break with Jin and V. The rest of the video itself is also visually stunning and there’s so much to take in. Jimin in particular in this music video looks stunning and I couldn’t look away after I saw him. More specifically, as soon as Jimin uncovers his eyes when the music starts, that is what drew me in. The original music video got me into BTS. If I had to pick a favorite part, it would probably be the beginning because the way it starts just sounds so nice. I like how long it takes to get there, too, and I’m a fan of all three rappers’ parts. I love how it starts and builds up, and the chorus to me was an unexpected change in sound in the best way possible. I love so much about this song! It’s hard to describe it without knowing the words I need to describe exactly what I love but I’ll try. Or rather, the music video did, but the song itself is pretty great.įor each of these posts I’ll try to include: a song rating, general thoughts on the song, thoughts on the music video (if applicable), thoughts on the choreography/dance practice (if applicable), and favorite live performance.
